when we found bailey she was a neglected, undernourished, sick, 3 pound mangy pup. the picture on the left was taken march 2011, shortly after we found her. looking back, it breaks my heart to see the pain and sadness in her eyes.

the picture on the right shows her transformation to a healthy, happy, much loved and well cared for little princess who now walks with a spring in her step. and those eyes? well now those big round marble eyes twinkle.

bailey made a new friend on a recent trip to the park. it was none other than mark twain himself. he was just sitting on the park bench reading a book! [the adventures of huckleberry finn, of course.]

packages are always so much fun to receive in the mail; especially unexpected ones. imagine our surprise, when we received a package from none other than chewy! i knew i wasn't expecting anything from them so i tore it open and what a surprise! a portrait of my grand dog, aoife! how adorable and how sweet.

here we come a-caroling among the leaves so green

nothing says christmas like listening to christmas carolers. for bailey's first outing since her accident, we went to see the desert carolers perform. listening to carolers is a sure fire way to get into the christmas spirit.

a month ago we didn't know if she would even pull through or if she did, what kind of damage would we be living with and look at her now. she's hobnobbing with carolers! she is our very own little christmas miracle.

a new hancock fabrics just opened in our neighborhood, so the other day we went to check it out. it was smaller than i expected it to be but they did have the rolled hem pressure foot i went for, and it was on sale, so that was a win win!

when kibbles was still with us and jumping on and off the sofa started to require effort, we bought her some doggie stairs. problem solved - until it wasn't. when she began to have trouble with the stairs, we got her a ramp and she loved it. problem solved - period.

now we have bailey who can jump up like a flea but jumping down causes too much stress on her delicate little legs. and aoife who suffers from arthritis, jumping on or off the sofa is against doctor's orders. our ramps are still providing easy access on and off the sofa and saving the doggies unnecessary strain on their joints.
