the hollywood sign

last weekend we took a drive up to the hollywood sign for a bit of sightseeing. it's a long and winding road that leads to the sign but well worth the trip. (did anyone get the beatles reference? BOL) it was so bright and sunny, bailey could barely keep her eyes open!

breakfast with bailey at basix cafe

over the weekend we met up with daughter #1 and went to the dog-friendly basix cafe in west hollywood for breakfast. we've driven by several times and finally we dropped in for a meal. i ordered the brioche french toast topped with fresh berries and powdered sugar (which i shared with my daughter) and bailey ordered a scrambled egg. i'm so glad we finally tried this place out. it was quite delicious and the portions were huge. bailey behaved quite well and was rewarded with her favorite treat, a chik 'n rice ball.

let us not forget that not all soldiers are human. our k9 troops have also given their lives for our country. we should honor their memory on this day of remembrance as well.

ups for bailey

bailey is always getting packages in the mail. yesterday she received a new water bottle that i found on fab.com. it is pink (of course) and little, like her! it holds 9.5 ounces. i have a couple of larger water bottles but they hold 25 ounces, way too much for little bailey and they take a lot of room in her doggie bag plus they make it heavy! this little one is perfect.

"ups brought me a box?!"

i like to have a story to tell with the pictures i post of bailey but i just don't have one with these. they are just a couple of pictures i took that, i think, are cute. i just sat her on the sofa, with a toy chihuahua, and started clicking away. this is what i ended up with.

the first thing the doggies do after a walk is to head straight to the water bowl. aoife, being the polite one, let bailey go first. i think bailey was drinking more than aoife expected so eef gives me a look as if to say "is she gonna leave any for me???"

bailey knows what it feels like to be homeless so whenever i see her sitting with her paws crossed, i always think it looks like she is praying for all the other homeless pets out there that will never find their forever homes, and it makes me sad that we can't help them all :(
