when it’s pouring rain outside, and the temps are only in the 30s-40s, the best thing to do is to stay in someone’s arms, wrapped up like a burrito. so that’s exactly what bailey did. BOL

gotcha day (9 years)

this year, bailey's gotcha day has landed on thanksgiving, giving us yet another reason to be extra thankful today. even though she’s been to hell and back, you’d never know it to look at her.

when we rescued her, 9 years ago, she was so small and frail. well, she’s still small, but believe it or not she was even smaller! looking at her now, it’s hard to believe she’s the same dog.

our temps have been dropping and bailey has been feeling the chill, so i crocheted a sweater for her. she loves it because it’s just like the afghans she is always burrowing under.

she doesn’t know how to lick food off her nose, so it just stays there. BOL

i will be going to san francisco on friday (leaving bailey in her daddy’s very capable hands) so yesterday we went shopping for a new suitcase. bailey chose this one and then had fun riding it around the store.

the strangest thing happened yesterday. when i went out to check the mail, i saw a cute little squirrel on our front lawn, so of course i started talking to her. then guess what. she started walking towards me. all the way up to me! she just stared at me, so i went inside to get her some walnuts. when i came back, she was still there waiting for me! i was holding bailey so i just dropped them on the ground and she happily gobbled them up.
