finding the sun patch

we've been in triple digits the past few days and bailey has been loving it. i had her bed in the shade but the sun is a funny thing and it keeps moving! so what does bailey do? she finds the one little patch of sun and curls up there. silly girl. [of course i pulled the bed back into full shade after i took this picture. the sun is a scorcher!]

when this month's chewy delivery arrived, bee was still here, so she will be a part of this post.

yes, i measure bailey's food with a coffee scoop.

it definitely passed the sniff test.

bee was so excited to be a part of this month's product review.

"am i doing this right?"

the only problem i had with it was that the expiration date only gave us 1 month to finish a 4.5 pound bag! bailey is only 4 pounds and only eats a coffee scoop of kibble twice a day. there is no way she would be able to finish the bag in a month. aoife came over for father's day, so i gave her the bag to take home. she has arthritis, so the added glucosamine and chondroitin will be good for her.

well, bee's 3 week so cal vacation has come to an end. i won't lie, it was work, but it was fun having her here. and i think she had a fun time here too. she's a sweetie pie for sure. just look at that face!

i have been crocheting afghans lately, so i made her one in her bumblebee colors to take back to new york. i know we are currently in a heatwave [106° yesterday], but it's not like she's gonna be wrapped up in it, outside. when she needs it, she'll already have it.

triple digits

here in so cal we are gonna reach triple digits over the weekend. if your temps are rising too, please keep an eye on your pets. dogs can, and do, get heat stroke. you can read more on that at pet md.

while they are outside, make sure there is a shady spot to escape from the blazing sun and always have plenty of fresh water available.

bee has been loving our california weather but the next few days are gonna be scorchers. we will be spending less time outside and more time inside our air conditioned home.

bee was looking at the items i have been crocheting for bailey & aoife and asked me to make a little something for her to take back to new york. i grabbed my crochet bag and whipped up a little yellow bandana. when i placed it on her head, she wasn't too happy with me at all. she turned into a statue and would only move her eyes. BOL

"um, i don't think that's where it's worn"

after i had a good laugh, and took some pictures of course, i placed it around her neck. she flapped her ears and magically came back to life.

i don't know how this blog post snuck up on me, but it sure did. i usually work on my 'see beautiful' post well in advance but somehow this month just got away from me.

it's as if bailey sensed my dilemma because she gave me this beautiful pose, which i was able to turn into this post. she crossed her paws, bowed her head, and "began to pray." i think she is praying for her pal reilly. he is one of the cowspotdogs, and has been having an issue with his footsie for quite some time now. hopefully her prayers will be answered and reilly will soon be on the road to recovery.

so, this moment, and every moment, i see beautiful in my little bailey.
