good ol’ days

because first we do the coffee, then we do the things, each morning hubby (and bailey) would check yelp to find us a dog friendly coffee shop, then google maps to get us around town. remember when we had to check the yellow pages in an actual phone book and a paper map that was folded a dozen times? ah yes, the good ol’ days.

did you know 2.7 million dogs and cats are killed in shelters each year? when i was looking to adopt, i visited several shelters weekly and every time i visited one, i saw different dogs. that means the dogs i had just seen the week before, had been euthanized because they hadn’t been adopted. shelters only hold pets 2-7 days before they are euthanized! they deserve a chance at life and a loving forever home. it’s not their fault they ended up in a shelter and they shouldn’t have to lose their life because they had an irresponsible owner.
how can you help? next time you are looking to add a fur baby to your family, why not check the shelters. i’m sure your new best friend is there, just waiting for you to find them.

CA to AZ

if you follow us on instagram, then you already know where we were this weekend. if you don’t follow us, surprise, we went to arizona!

tucson, to be exact.

finding a restaurant with outdoor seating was much harder than it is here in california, but when we did find one, bailey was very well behaved and waited very patiently for her meal to arrive.

i think bailey’s favorite part of the entire trip is when we ordered her a side of mac ’n cheese for dinner. this made her very happy.

road trip!

saturday hubby and i celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary, so we took an extended weekend and went on a road trip, with bailey of course. we should be home tonight but i wanted to be sure and get this scheduled to post before we left. that way you can get your bailey fix for the day. yesterday facebook reminded me what bailey (and i) looked like back in 2011. at this point, we had only had her 10 months and at only 3 pounds she was small enough to hang out on my shoulder! BOL

bailey has a tale of woe to tell on this (not so) happy tuesday. her day started out like any other, except for the fact that we woke up extra early. we got in the car and drove to *gasp* the vet for a dental visit! sorry, bailey. 3 hours later she was ready to come home but...

she came back with one less molar.
but let’s look on the brighter side. bad news, they took a molar, but good news, they only took one!

dirt and more dirt

i’ve been wanting to redo our backyard for quite a while now but when i sprained my ankle by stepping in an unexpected low spot, that was the last straw. last week we had our lawn removed.

new sod comes this week but right now all we have is dirt and more dirt.

when hubby put bailey on the lawn roller, i said "no! she’ll get scared and fall off!" but look at my little girl being so brave. she totally proved me wrong.
