in the words of john denver, "sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy" and bailey absolutely agrees. our weather is heading towards triple digits but our weekend was quite lovely. i'm glad bailey was able to get some fresh air before it gets really hot because i think she'll be breathing air conditioner air for the rest of the week. BOL

memorial day weekend

on sunday mornings hubby is up early with the chihuahuas. when i get up, he's got coffee on and yesterday he had the girls wrapped up in a blankie, snug as two bugs in a rug.

memorial day is not just a day for sales or a day off work, it is a day to remember and honor those who served.

last night while watching the news, i saw that lax lit their pylons in red, white & blue, in honor of memorial day. two very enthusiastic thumbs up to them for that :)

"ya, not really"

me: BOL, it looks like you're drinking from the fountain! can you please turn towards the camera?

me: ok, now would you please open your eyes?

"heh heh heh"

me: if you look at the camera, with your eyes open, i'll give you a treat!

"like THIS?"

me: ok, i give up. i guess sometimes it's just best to leave well enough alone. BOL

today is a day to honor and remember the men, women and k9's who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. somehow memorial day has evolved into a day for bbq's, picnics and home repairs but let's not forget the true meaning. please remember the fallen and their families that must go on without their loved ones. to those no longer with us, we are grateful for your sacrifice and our freedom. thank you.
