there's an app for that

do you 'fly the friendly skies' with your dog? (that used to be united airlines' slogan, remember? but they aren't so dog friendly now are they? anyway, i digress.) is it a struggle to find a place for your pooch to do his business at the airport? there's an app for that. it's the 'where to go' app, a directory of airport animal relief areas. it lists u.s. airports, where your dog can go and directions on how to get there. download it free at the itunes store.

chirp chirp

this scrub jay & his partner have been collecting nesting material from my backyard for the past week or so. bailey doesn't like them. but it's not her fault. i've seen the bird taunting her. the bird runs across the fence, back and forth, making bailey chase it back and forth. i don't know if it was playing with her or teasing her but bailey won't stand for it.

aoife wants to play; bailey not so much

aoife is desperate to play with bailey but bailey just can't be bothered. aoife tried all her tricks, back kicking, barking, butt up, but little bailey wanted nothing to do with her shenanigans.  as you can see by the last picture, it's as if she's asking me to make aoife go away.  poor eef :(

stormy weather

yesterday we had terrible weather. we were stuck in the house all day with a storm pounding outside. poor bailey had no sun. so to stay busy, we played with lots of toys. i line her toys up and she picks the one she wants to play with. how do you keep your doggies busy when the weather outside is frightful? how do you keep them out of mischief?

life's too short not to have a dog.

when bailey notices that i have an empty lap, she very politely asks if she can keep it warm for me.  she thanks me for picking her up then gets into her cozy position and settles in.  this is a daily ritual, btw.

it's not as if there is nowhere else to lay.  she has beds.  she just chooses for them to remain empty.  this bed for example.  perfectly comfy & cozy... yet here it sits... empty & forgotten.

spring has sprung

who says pumpkin pie is only for thanksgiving? it is hubby's favorite pie so we have it a few times a year. bailey didn't get a taste of the cakes we've had lately but i think she can have a nibble of the pumpkin.

hubby brought home a bailey's irish creme cupcake as a pre-st. patrick's day treat. all bailey heard was "bailey's cupcake" and automatically thought it was for her! um, i think not sweetie. tis for me.

don't worry, the car is parked. bailey was just stretching her legs while hubby was getting lunch. i would never drive with a loose doggie in the car. bailey is always secured in her doggie car seat.
