yesterday was so beautiful, i thought it would be the perfect time to get some outdoor photos of bailey.

mr sandman must have been hiding in the bushes because in a matter of moments, little bailey was whisked off to dreamland.

i was wrapping an order for kibbles place when my assistant came to lend a "helping" hand paw. yes, i wrap my orders on the floor. (my table tops usually have stuff on them. don't judge.) i told her if she's gonna help, the first thing she should do is to get off the bubble wrap before she pops it and has a heart attack from the scare! BOL

whirlwind trip

well, my whirlwind trip to superzoo is over :(

thanks to southwest for the safe trip to and fro...

and to the bellagio for such a beautiful suite

and especially to daughter #2 for being my travel partner :)
we left tuesday evening and returned wednesday night. yes, i'm pooped! no, that wasn't nearly enough time to fully partake in all that superzoo had to offer but i did make a few new contacts and that's really all that matters.

i'm leaving on a jet plane

i'm packed and ready to go but it looks like little bailey is trying to be a stow away. i'm sorry bailey, you have to stay home with daddy. where am i going, you ask?

i am on my way to superzoo, a trade show for pet retailers that is held every year in las vegas. i hope to make some new contacts, reconnect with some old ones and add some new inventory to kibbles place. is there anything in particular you'd like to see kibbles place carry?

car safety

restraining a dog in a car didn't used to be a big thing. back in the 70's i remember driving around with rocky, our poodle, sitting on the rear dash of our camaro. people rarely buckled up back then, much less a dog.

my how the times have changed! nowadays, pet safety is just as important as people safety. i have 2 car seats in my car at all times; one for bailey, and even though aoife does not live with us full time, we have another seat for her, and they get buckled up on every trip. it doesn't matter if we are going 1 mile to the local dog park or on a road trip to san francisco; they are always buckled up.

not only do the car seats keep the doggies restrained and out of harms way, but they also lift them up so they can look out the window! this is very important to aoife, as she LOVES to bark at everyone she sees. BOL

i found a black crow feather in my yard a couple of days ago and i showed it to bailey to see what she thought of it.

"it looks just like the one timothy mouse gave dumbo!"

a day at the beach (sort of)

since we don't live at the beach, i thought i'd bring the beach to bailey ... well sort of. i set an umbrella on it's side, opened up a beach towel and brought out a mini adirondack chair. looks beachy to me, do you think it's fooling bailey?

last week when i posted about our diy weekend there were a few pictures that didn't really fit into that post. however since this is monday mischief, i think they'll fit right in.
i like to show the reality of trying to take bailey's picture and how not all pictures go according to plan. sometimes she is very photogenic and cooperative ... and sometimes she just isn't.

{this moment} see beautiful

oh there are so many beautiful things around us. some things are obviously beautiful, while others have hidden beauty. here are some things i see beauty in that i'd like to share with you.

deer. we found this group of deer roaming a cemetery up in pacific grove. we didn't see any bucks but there were 3 does and a couple of fawns.

shamrocks. i love shamrocks because each leave is heart-shaped. st patrick used the shamrock to teach christianity, explaining that the three leaves represented the father, the son and the holy spirit.

mushrooms. these little guys just pop up overnight. sometimes i wake up to dozens in my yard as if they were left by visiting fairies. they look so pretty with the morning dew still on the blades of grass.

rocks. nature at it's best. have you ever seen heart-shaped rocks??? i found two in my yard!

and of course my beautiful little bailey. how can you not love this face?
