thank goodness for the digital age

for every shot that i keep of bailey, there are probably half a dozen that i delete. whether she's in motion, moves out of frame or i just don't like the shot, more end up deleted than in bailey's picture file.

is your doggie a messy marvin at meal time? this is what bailey typically does. she scatters her veggies all over the floor while looking for her favorite foods.

after she's done with her favorites, then she'll finish off the rest and she'll clean up her mess too! good girl.

does your doggie like to nap completely buried underneath a blanket? bailey does, but on this day she left the tips of her ears peeking out.

as you can see, she wasn't too happy about being woken up for a frickin' picture and she made her feelings known by giving me a super stink eye. i'm sorry bailey. you can go back to sleep now. no more pictures today.

spring has sprung

she who plants a garden, plants happiness.

my plum tree is full of blossoms, my orange tree is full of oranges and even my lemon tree has produced it's first fruit.
birds are singing, bees are buzzing and lizards are running everywhere.
the garden has come back to life and it's a beautiful thing.

the warm weather is upon us and it's time for cool and refreshing treats. yesterday while we were out running errands, we decided what better way to cool off than to stop in for a frozen yogurt dessert at menchie's. of course bailey is never left out of the fun, so she gets her very own little sample size serving.

we found this sign on highway 126 in ventura county. it makes my heart smile that the "forgotten war" isn't completely forgotten. (this one's for you pop!)

you don't have to see detail, to know something is beautiful. i thought the way the sun was shining behind these palm trees, in santa barbara, was quite stunning. i'm glad i was able to capture this moment in time.

even though it is in a bed of canna, this calla lily comes back every year to bloom for st anthony.

see beautiful in the horizon.
as a native californian, i know i take the ocean and it's beauty for granted, but it really is quite spectacular.

and of course i see beautiful in the eyes of my little bailey.

when writing a daily blog, sometimes my mind draws a blank and i need inspiration. i came across an article celebrating the anniversary of dr seuss's birth and i was inspired. [btw, he would have been 110 on march 2nd.] happy belated birthday dr seuss!

i think it's the season for giant insects because last month we were visited by a giant grasshopper and last week we were visited by a beautiful white-lined sphinx moth.

bailey wondered how close she could get without it flying away.

spring forward (daylight saving time)

last night, or should i say this morning, we lost an hour of sleep. yep, it's that time again. the second weekend of march is here again. daylight saving time began at 2am and while i will enjoy more daylight hours, i do not enjoy losing sleep. BOL.
