heads-up

bailey and aoife are both short-haired chihuahuas but they couldn't look more different. that's because bailey is an apple head and aoife is a deer head. no, i didn't make that up. that's really how they are known.

bailey's little skull is much rounder and is shaped like, well, like an apple. another trait of an apple head is the 90 degree angle where her skull meets her muzzle.

aoife's head is more elongated and shaped like, you guessed it, a deer. the slope from aoife's skull to her muzzle is another characteristic of a deer head.

we had a very leisure sunday morning. bailey hung out in her pjs and had a very hoppy easter with two new bunny toys. she got a handmade crocheted bunny i picked up at an art faire and a wee hugglehounds bunny (from kibbles place of course).

after brunch, bailey got dressed up in her new handmade easter dress (also from the art faire). i decided to go a bit retro this year with polka dots and cherries, instead of the traditional pastels or florals.

since most places were closed yesterday, we decided to go out for a leisurely stroll. bailey is loving life and takes every chance she gets to stop and smell the roses.

shopping for fun

when we go shopping, making it fun for bailey is our main objective. she has decided that she needs another new bed, so she's always testing out the furniture and doggie beds to find just the right fit.

"this is adorable but not very comfy."

she also likes to search for goodies in baskets of odds and ends. sometimes she finds a treasure and other times she comes out empty handed paw'd. either way, she has a good time and that's really all that matters.

"nope, nothin' in here."

went for a leisure stroll with aoife.

stopped in at augie's for a cup of coffee.

took a nap.

watched the halftime show.

bailey goes bonkers for blueberry bagels. check out her intense stare. it's as if she was willing it to magically fly into her mouth.

then her request for a taste ...

turned into an all out plea! i really wish i had video'd her. she was creating such a ruckus. we were afraid she was going to injure herself!

finally she tries the sweet and adorable approach.
of course i ended up sharing my bagel with her. there was no way i could resist her.
