february was national pet dental health month so bailey wanted to show off her pearly whites before the month was completely gone.

proud as a peacock

arcadia ca is known for the peacocks that roam free on the streets near the arboretum. we went to see them the other day to take some pictures.


bailey has seen them before so she wasn't too excited to see them again. she says 'seen one peacock, seen 'em all'.
(sorry bout the glare on the window. we have those child-safe windows that only go down half way. very annoying.)


here is a clearer view of the guy bailey was looking at.


they are very curious birds and will walk right up to your car...


even if you're right in the middle of the street!

bailey is pretty good about taking pictures but on this day, she just refused. i tried and i bribed but nothing seemed to work. look at her pulling away!


she was looking everywhere except at me!


i give up. this was the best shot i could get.
oh well, you win some and you lose some. better luck next time i guess.

noses in need of moisture

thanks to all who wrote in for the moisturizing butter. i'm just sorry i only had one to offer. it seems there are quite a few dry noses out there.

after much deliberation and consideration...


bailey & aoife agreed that benny & lily should receive free sample of the lumino moisturizing butter! they didn't want their noses to be used as pumice stones.

even though you can only see their silhouette, you can just sense the love in their eyes. bailey always looks at hubby like this. the sun was bright outside and when i looked at them, i saw their beautiful silhouette form and i just had to capture the moment. there is just something so beautiful in the simplicity, don't you think?

on our last trip to the dog park, aoife and bailey climbed a boulder and when they reached the top, it's as if they channeled rin tin tin and in unison assumed his famous pose. i could never have planned and executed this shot. it was spontaneous and organic.

aoife's diet

aoife, my little piggy grand-dog, has a weight problem and has been on thyroid medication for a few months now. she is also on a strict diet and exercise regiment (she walks at least a mile every day). now it seems she is always hungry. after she eats her own meal, she just sits and waits to see if bailey will have any leftovers for her. if i don't pick up bailey's bowl, aoife will lick it clean. sorry aoife, no leftovers for you.

we removed the bottom doors and the side trim and you can already see the transformation taking shape

a built-in shelf has magically appeared!

hubby trimmed the doors to cover only the bottom two shelves

bailey sees that things are under control so she decides to take a break

aoife stops in to offer support and give hubby a quick kiss while he attaches the new latches

hubby came home with an ice cream cake for valentine's day. looks like bailey is hoping to get a taste.


do not attempt to adjust the color on your monitor; yes it is frosted in orange. i love orange. hubby said when he was placing the order, the guy at the ice cream shop was in shock that he wanted an orange cake for valentine's day. he said 'why not pink? everyone's ordering pink.' hey ice cream guy, if hubby wants to order an orange cake, he should be able to order an orange cake. geez!
hubby knew i would love it orange and hubby was right :)
