sunday night we had a terrible storm with horrendous thunder and lightening and at 5.45am (monday morning) lightening struck a transformer and we lost power. as of this writing we still have no power, so i am posting from my ipad. they are saying we won't have power till 2.30pm, at the earliest! wish us luck with another day of no power.

the calendar says fall but the weather says summer

summer seems to be having a bit of trouble stepping aside and letting fall come in. yesterday we were in the mid 90's!

still a conehead

aoife is spending a couple of weeks with us and i'm surprised how well she is getting on with her cone. i could probably take it off now but she attempted to scratch her eye yesterday, so i'm going to leave it on an extra day. some stitches were taken out tuesday but she still has more that will dissolve on their own. i don't want to have to call daughter #1 and tell her that she hurt herself so i'm playing it safe and leaving it on an extra day. it's better to be safe than sorry.

aoife update

the results from aoife's biopsy came back, and yes, it was a meibomian tumor and thankfully it was benign. woohoo! her vet removed the gland along with the tumor so it shouldn't come back. she gets her stitches off on tuesday, then she can get back to life as usual.
thanks for all of the POTP, my friends. y'all are pawesome.

when i ask bailey to shake hands, she always offers her left hand paw. i've tried to shake her right paw, but it throws her off balance. does that make her a lefty? how about your pup. do they favor one paw over the other?

potp for aoife

aoife has had a little bump on her eyelid for a while, but lately it has been growing. it is clearly visible in this pic i took of her last month.

yesterday she had it removed and it was sent off to pathology to see exactly what it was. her doc thinks it was a meibomian tumor but will know more in a day or two. daughter #1 sent me these pictures of her last night.

as for now, she needs to stay "coned" to protect her stitches, which will be removed next week. no one knows better than me, what POTP can do, so i need to ask a favor. she needs your POTP for a speedy recovery and especially that the test results come back benign. thank you.

look who came for a long weekend visit. it's bee! (grand-dog #2!) i hadn't seen her since june so it was so nice to have her (& daughter #2 of course) here for a few days.
yes bee is a usc fan too and was so happy with their win over arizona state 41-20! fight on!
