back it 2011 bailey found herself up a tree without a ladder. actually, hubby put her there, but not to worry, he is holding her from behind so she doesn't fall.

when bee was here for a visit a couple of weeks ago, the girls enjoyed a little sunshine out back. not too much though, just enough to warm their little bones. BOL, look at all those little pointed ears! they're so cute.

going through some old pictures for flashback friday, this one stood out to me. look how happy bailey got when i showed her my coffee mug! BOL

yesterday on our way to get bailey's nails clipped, a little brown chihuahua ran right in front of my car. i was going north and he was coming south. he basically made a left turn right in front of me. if i hadn't seen him coming, i would have hit him because i had the green light and i was already in the intersection.

his little tongue was hanging out of his mouth and he looked so scared. he was running around without knowing where he was going and without direction. by the time i was able to swing back around, he was gone. i drove a up and down a few streets but i couldn't find him. now i can't get that poor baby out of my head.

bailey is a rescue that was also found running on a busy street and now she lives like a princess. i pray someone was able to get him off the street and that he slept in a warm bed last night. it's the worst feeling knowing that i wasn't able to help him :(

a new member of the family

daughter #2 has just adopted a little girl ... dog! her ex-roommate was looking to re-home her dog, so daughter #2 offered to take her. she is an adorable 9 year old chihuahua/rat terrier mix, named bee. she is full of energy and doesn't act a day over 2. isn't she a cutie? i can't wait for bailey to meet her!

so where's the mischief? well, i now have a 2nd grand doggie. i will be causing the mischief by all the spoiling she will be getting from me. BOL

chihuahua pride day 2013

last saturday we attended the 3rd annual chihuahua pride day in pacific grove. we just happened to be in town visiting daughter #1, so we were able to take part in their event.

we were one of the first 100 people through the door, so we got a free goodie bag! bailey was quite excited about that.

they were selling chihuahua pride day totes, so i had to get one! proceeds from the tote sales will go to the lucky fund, a spay/neuter voucher program for chihuahua and chi-mix guardians who need help getting their dog "fixed." i believe you can still purchase these totes via mail order. check their facebook page to be sure.

did anyone see this chihuahua pillow in fab's pet shop earlier this month? guess who had to have it? me! it was made by rachael of perpetually yours pets and was available as a boy or girl. (i got the girl.) according to her website "each dog is dressed in costume based on the history or a characteristic of his/her breed." since this is a chihuahua, she is dressed as an aztec warrior.

the fab sale has ended but you can still buy them at perpetually yours pets. there are currently 9 breeds available, with plans to increase the breed line considerably and to expand to cats too! the pillows come in a choice of 4 color combinations so i'm sure you'll find one to match your decor. (i chose butternut). rachael is an illustrator and graphic designer and each design is her original creation. they are printed with water based inks, stuffed with polyester fiberfill and made right here in the usa. next time you are surfing the web, stop by perpetually yours pets and tell her judy (& bailey) sent you!

look what i found at target. chachi pajamas for me! well i just had to get them. i love how paul frank reminds us to not take life so seriously. (and i love that he added a chihuahua to his cast of characters.) we should have fun everyday and not sweat the small stuff.

i like to have a story to tell with the pictures i post of bailey but i just don't have one with these. they are just a couple of pictures i took that, i think, are cute. i just sat her on the sofa, with a toy chihuahua, and started clicking away. this is what i ended up with.

if i had a hammer

hubby has been busy all week with home repairs and bailey has been right by his side, ready to lend a helping hand paw.

"would you like the needle nose pliers or the vise grips?"

"ok daddy, no more tool time; it's bailey time!"

please pick me up, please?

when bailey notices that i have an empty lap, she very politely asks if she can keep it warm for me.  she thanks me for picking her up then gets into her cozy position and settles in.  this is a daily ritual, btw.

it's not as if there is nowhere else to lay.  she has beds.  she just chooses for them to remain empty.  this bed for example.  perfectly comfy & cozy... yet here it sits... empty & forgotten.

i am chihuahua, hear me roar!

bailey is shouting it from the rooftops (actually she's on a pile of rocks; it's too dangerous on a roof).
