{52 snapshots of life} #comfort

on week 24 of the 52 week photo challenge, we are tasked to photograph comfort. bailey always looks comfy wherever she rests her little apple head but when she's on daddy's lap, there is absolutely nothing better. unless she is under a blankie, on daddy's lap. aah, epitome of comfort.

ok, i was holding a yummy to get her attention but i didn't know she was gonna jump all over aoife! BOL

official product tester

bailey is the certified product tester and official model for kibbles place. this sling is an item i am thinking of carrying, but before i commit to it, bailey has to give it her thumbs up approval. i have been looking for a comfortable carrier that was truly made for a tiny dog like bailey. there are a few "small dog" carriers out there, but they are still too deep for the tiny breed dogs.

this one comes in two sizes: small/medium & medium/large and both can hold up to 18 lbs. (the different sizes depend more on the human's size rather than the dog.) so far we are liking it. because it's worn across the body, rather than on the shoulder, it distributes the weight, making it comfortable to wear. the fact that bailey hasn't tried to wriggly out of it, tells me that it is also comfortable to be carried in.

successful grass roll

monday, golden daily scoop had instructions on "how to do the perfect grass roll." apparently aoife was paying attention because she implemented bruin's techniques and had a very successful grass roll. first, she had bailey help her find just the right spot.

then she just went for it. thanks for the tips bruin!

triple digit temps = tongue out tuesday

we had a super hot day yesterday. if you follow us on facebook then you saw this picture (though it was much darker because it was uploaded from my phone, pre-photoshop). it showed our temp at 103° but after i took this picture, we climbed another degree and we topped out at 104°!

yes it was hot and yes bailey was wearing a shirt. i'm not a bad dog mom, she was cold because we had the air conditioner on. when we went outside, i did take the shirt off of her.

this would probably be a good time to remind everyone of a few summer precautions: always have plenty of clean, fresh water available for your dogs. --- provide them with plenty of shady spots so they can get away from the hot sun. --- exercise them in the morning or in the evening when the weather is a bit cooler. --- whether you offer them ice cubes or not is a topic groovy goldendoodles was discussing yesterday. bailey can't chew an ice cube but i do add ice to her water bowl. --- dogs can get heat stroke, just like people. know the signs and the treatment. --- and NEVER leave them in a parked car.
