when bailey wasn't in the mood to pose for this bokeh post, i had to come up with a plan b. elfie, my elf on the shelf, offered to be bailey's stand-in. i quickly agreed and got this shot in one take. she's very photogenic, don't you think?

since i had bailey in her jammies, and she looked so cute, i tried again a little while later. this time she was cooperative.

we have so much to be thankful this year. we are thankful for each and every one of you, our blog friends. we've been through good times together and you've helped me through the toughest. thank you for being there through thick and thin.

i am thankful that aoife puts up with bailey's antics.

but of course i am most thankful for bailey's remarkable recovery from her accident. just look at my silly girl now. BOL

can you believe this is week 46 of the 52 snapshots of life blog hop? where has the year gone?

respect to all our vets that have fought in our many wars, but especially to my pop. he is a veteran of the korean war and served aboard the uss valley forge. go navy!

earlier this year he gave me his dog tags and someday i will pass them on to my daughters. but for now, bailey seems to be quite interested in them.

our challenge this week is to photograph pumpkins. well at this time of year, that's not a problem. we went to lowe's for some building supplies, and low and behold, there was a pumpkin display! well i always have my phone on me, so we placed bailey on the display and i got these shots of her. easy peasy.

for this week's photo challenge, i took a different path. instead of photographing world i found a few quotes that fit the bill quite nicely.

across from the street from the santa anita race track, in arcadia (california), is the los angeles county arboretum and botanic garden. the famous inhabitants of the arboretum are peafowl and as if the 127 acres isn't enough space for them, they fly out of the arboretum and you can often find them roaming the nearby neighborhoods. this was the perfect place to photograph animals for this week's photo challenge.

this guy's got it made in the shade.

we were in triple digits, so finding a shady spot to rest was a good idea.

you really have to be careful driving around these streets because they walk wherever they want! this young lady was walking alongside our car.

the highlight of our day was finding a mommy with her 3 babies!

in this, the 40th week of the 52 snapshots of life photo challenge, we are to photograph framed. ok, no problem, but holding the frame in one hand, my camera in the other, and trying to center bailey in the middle, wasn't as easy as i thought it would be. BOL
