across from the street from the santa anita race track, in arcadia (california), is the los angeles county arboretum and botanic garden. the famous inhabitants of the arboretum are peafowl and as if the 127 acres isn't enough space for them, they fly out of the arboretum and you can often find them roaming the nearby neighborhoods. this was the perfect place to photograph animals for this week's photo challenge.
this guy's got it made in the shade.
we were in triple digits, so finding a shady spot to rest was a good idea.
you really have to be careful driving around these streets because they walk wherever they want! this young lady was walking alongside our car.
the highlight of our day was finding a mommy with her 3 babies!

I haven't seen these guys but always see peacocks even in San Marino. Bet Bailey was really taken in by these animals that she had never seen before.
