psa: dog days of summer

with the dog days of summer upon us, i would be remiss if i didn’t remind y’all about the danger of leaving your pet, or any living being, in a parked car. even if the temperature outside seems ok to you, the inside of a car is not ok for your pet. and leaving the windows cracked open, does not make it any better.

"are you listening?"

check the chart below to see how fast the temperature in your car rises. these temps can lead to brain damage, heatstroke and/or death.

when walking your dog, please keep in mind that when the air temperature is 87°, the asphalt can reach a blistering 140° and that's hot enough to cause burns, permanent damage and scarring after just one minute of contact! if it’s too hot for you to walk barefoot, then it’s too hot for your pooch. walk them early morning or later in the evening.

"did you get all that?"

until we meet again my friends-

  1. Words of wisdom, so sad that so many people are thoughtless/ careless and just downright STUPID!! St Francis will bless you

  2. Good tips! Dogs (and kids) in hot cars drive Mom crazy. Sometimes humans can be pretty dumb... #notOK

    Love and licks,

  3. I see it on the news all the time, yes sorry to say, some people just don't think.
