yesterday's visit was drastically different than the day before. just look at her! look at her big eyes! look at her tongue, back in her mouth! omg, we were so happy to see her progress. she recognized me and was so excited that we came to visit. she actually got a little too excited and we had to cut our visit short because doc was afraid she would hurt her head. but i left her with her little pink blankie, that i wore under my shirt all day to get my scent on it. (thanks for the suggestion emma).
doc said the swelling in her brain isn't pressing on her eye anymore. now both pupils are the same size. and no more paddling! that was really tough to see. she is drinking water (with a syringe) and swallowing well. yay for bailey! keep up the good work baby girl.
i feel like i've been living in black and white and now all of a sudden i'm back to living color. i know she still has a looong road ahead of her. she is still in the icu. her brain is still swollen and it'll take months for her skull to mend itself, not to mention her cracked vertebra, but i do see a light at the end of this very dark tunnel.
thank you again for the outpouring of love and hope. every one of you are helping her heal. xoxo
until we meet again my friends-
I'm so happy to hear this. I've been checking the page all morning for an update. Prayers to you and Bailey!!

ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear the positive news. I have been checking several times a day for her progress and even did a little prayer before opening your site this morning. I can't even imagine what you are going through. I know I was a mess when Piranha was limp from the Blue Buffalo recall a while back. I am happy to learn she is on the positive road to recovery and will continue my prayers. This makes my day!
ReplyDeleteOh my Bailey come in sweetheart. We are praying nonstop 24/7 for you. What joy to see you responding to mom

We've been thinking about her all morning and hoping that maybe there was some better news today. OMD...she looks wonderful compared to the last couple of posts. We'll keep right on doing what we're doing....saying prayers and keeping our paws crossed. And, Bailey, you keep right on doing what you're doing....getting better. We love you, pretty girl!
ReplyDeleteDear Bailey's 'rents,
ReplyDeleteI am doing a HAPPY DANCE along with the JUJU Fairy twirl and the POTP wave. It is hard and I lose my balance a lot - but I will keep it up until Bailey is healthy and home in your arms.

ReplyDeleteI am about to go away from all internet access for a while, and I'm glad that I can leave with this full vivid color vision of Bailey improving :)
ReplyDeletethat is excellent and even baby steps are still steps and in the right direction - we will keep sending power of the paw to her :)
ReplyDeleteWe are so happy to hear there is a bit of good news! That is wonderful. With something so serious, every tiny step is huge! Hope the blanky makes her feel better. Mom carries socks and gloves under her shirt when she takes Bailie tracking to get them scented. Sometimes she forgets they are there and then gets embarrassed when she is out and has these lumps on her chest area!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to see those great big eyes with their pools of light coming through again! She is tiny but she is mighty. The look on her face says "What the @#%& happened to me and get me outta here! Dogs have an amazing ability to heal and Bailey will get all the care, support and love she needs to get better.
