paso robles

after leaving aoife and daughter #1 in monterey, bobbing head chihuahua supervises our way home.

in 1955, at the junction of highways 41 & 46, james dean died in a terrible car crash. we passed the sign that marks the location of that crash in cholame. rip james dean :(

a couple of hours out of monterey, we passed through paso robles. we needed to stretch our legs, so we stopped at the downtown city park before the long trek back down to so cal. bailey found this statue next to a fire hydrant. BOL

i tried to research the statue but couldn't find any info about it in time for this post.

the only thing i know is what the plaque says:
"a man's best friend" by christopher bell 1998

until we meet again my friends-

  3. Tee-hee...your bobble head is cute. That is an odd spot for a statue but it's kinda cool just the same. Everywhere is adventure!

  5. I would imagine that the fire hydrant came before the dog memorial. Sweet touch and how nice that the township let it be there and nobody stole it yet.

Monterrey is such a lovely place. I have visited it often as my daughter lives nearby in a Santa Cruz.
