save a life, rescue a dog

we rescued bailey 14 months ago and it was the best decision we could have made. when i hear of someone that just bought a dog, i think of all the dogs that will live their final days in the cold surroundings of a shelter. never knowing love, never having a family. it just breaks my heart. shelter dogs are just as good, if not better, than the puppy mills dogs you are likely to find at the pet stores. if you are thinking of adding a dog to your family, please consider adopting a homeless pet; you will literally be saving a life.

chihuahua on duty

bailey, my little watchdog, is keeping an eye out for anyone or anything that looks suspicious. she can't hurt you with her little bite, but she can break your eardrum with her piercing bark!

comfortably numb

i was taking pictures of bailey the other day when she stuck her face right in the camera. i snapped this shot and i love it. it is so random, it just cracks me up. it looks like she should be singing pink floyd's comfortably numb:
"hello, is there anybody in there? just nod if you can hear me. is there anyone at home?"

smile and the world smiles with you

this is my grandDOGter, aoife. yes, my grandchild is a chihuahua. she will show up here every now and then because she loves to have her picture taken.

scary kibble

bailey is a pretty good eater and usually finishes her plate of food, veggies and all! her only problem is the kibble. in the first place they are too big for her, so we end up breaking each one of them in half. then when she does bite them, the breaking sound in her mouth scares her. it scares her so much that she actually jumps! i wonder if any other small dog owners have this problem.

is it lunchtime?
