bailey gets her kicks on route 66 (in a giant orange)

on route 66, just west of san bernardino, you will find this 7' tall orange stand (circa 1936). once upon a time it was not uncommon to see these oranges open for business selling orange juice and bags of fruit to weary travelers. now they have mostly gone the way of the dinosaur so it's nice that we have this one here in so cal as a remembrance of days gone by. hopefully the bono's will someday reopen it for business. ok, that's the end of today's history lesson, now on to the mischief. BOL

see that little figure standing on the counter? yep, that's bailey. looks like she is waiting for the orange juice stand to reopen for business.

bailey sleeps in a teepee

we took a mini getaway this weekend and stayed at the wigwam motel on route 66. bailey was very excited to stay in a "real" teepee! the motel's been there since 1949 and i must say, we really did get our kicks on route 66. the motel is adorable and dog friendly!!!
