on route 66, just west of san bernardino, you will find this 7' tall orange stand (circa 1936). once upon a time it was not uncommon to see these oranges open for business selling orange juice and bags of fruit to weary travelers. now they have mostly gone the way of the dinosaur so it's nice that we have this one here in so cal as a remembrance of days gone by. hopefully the bono's will someday reopen it for business. ok, that's the end of today's history lesson, now on to the mischief. BOL
see that little figure standing on the counter? yep, that's bailey. looks like she is waiting for the orange juice stand to reopen for business.
thanks to alfie's blog, my brown newfies & snoopy's dog blog for hosting monday mischief blog hop.
until we meet again my friends-
Thanks for sharing a bit of history.
ReplyDeleteCool! Too bad they not open anymore.
ReplyDeleteBailey looks so tiny on the orange! What a neat little building, they should definitely re-open! ☺
ReplyDeleteOMD, she looks like a speck on an orange, so tiny!
ReplyDeleteAhhh such fond memories
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool piece of history. We are in Florida but we just mentioned how we miss the orange stand that used to be everywhere here. There are none to be found now and I really would love some Orange Juice too, Bailey. You would think with the move to natural things, someone would realize they would do great now a days.
ReplyDeleteHilarious!
