day 2 of recovery

first off i would like to thank y’all for the outpouring of love. it really means so much to me. i don’t know what i would without you. i love y’all.

we had a pretty good day yesterday. in the morning, i carried her outside and had her harness at the ready but she was able to walk on her own! it’s a little crooked and wobbly and she stumbles a little but she's able to get from point a to point b unassisted. all things considered, i decided to postpone her vet appointment until friday.

even with all the sleep bailey got monday, she still managed to sleep all of yesterday. if i didn’t wake her to eat or to go out to do business, i really wonder when she would have woken up. mealtime was a bit of a challenge. she didn’t really want to eat so i had to convince her that she was hungry. and the only way she would eat was out of my hand. as long as the food got into her tummy, i guess it didn’t matter how it got there.

this look on her face was because she was hearing sounds outside the front door. it took a moment to click, but when she realized it was mail being delivered, she went into a tizzy; barking and huffing and puffing at the door. after our mailman left, i had to open the door to show her the coast was clear and that she had scared away the “monster" outside the door. good job bailey. thank you for protecting me.

praying for more good news tomorrow.

until we meet again my friends-

  1. Just couldn't wait to check in on you this morning, Bailey. We're so glad to hear that you're doing so well. If you could scare away that horrible monster the front door, you're doing just fine. Will continue to keep our paws crossed though and Mom will keep on sending hugs and prayers.

  4. Barking at the evil mailman is good practice for getting back to normal. Well done, B. Stay strong!
