the calm before the storm

don't you just hate it when you are sitting quietly at the computer, soft music playing in the background, pup sleeping peacefully on your lap, when all of a sudden there are bombs bursting in air? ya me too. besides giving me a heart attack, it throws my little bailey into a tizzy. why do people have to do that? ever since bailey came into our lives, i dread the 4th of july (and new years eve). she goes into a panic that lasts for hours.


because a pooped pup is a happy pup, tomorrow afternoon we will be going for a long walk. when evening hits, i will try the thundershirt. i've heard great things about it. hopefully it'll help, at least a little. plus we will have classical music on the tv, windows will be closed, air conditioner will be on, and the curtains'll be drawn. if i forgot anything, please let me know! is the 4th of july the worst day ever for your fur babies or are they cool with it?

    we have the same problem starting at Memorial Day. Can't stand it. Wish they would ban private displays. Cody isn't bothered by them at all but Dakota loses his mind. DakotasDen

    I don't mind the fireworks, butts I bark if there are any REALLY loud bangs. Ma keeps the tv really loud, and the AC on to try and drown out most of them. Wanna knows what really gets me freaked? Halloween! Yuppers! HATES IT! I mean, all those screaming kids knockin' on my door! WTD??! And nobody ever comes in to gives me treaties??! no. just no.
    Keep safe guys, and have a margarita (or 87) on me!

    Yes, it use to be but the vet gave me mild tranquilizers and it did the trick.
