g’day friends. we are mixing it up a bit with today's product review.

this month we are reviewing bird food! kaytee basic blend wild bird food, to be exact, and chewy was kind enough to send me a 20 pound bag for my backyard feeder. sorry, bailey.

"BIRD FOOD!?! i don’t eat bird food!"

our backyard is always filled with an assortment of sparrows, goldfinches, chickadees, towhees, doves, scruff jays... well, you get the idea.

it looks like it has passed the bird test. i filled the feeder late morning, and a few rainy hours later, it needs a refill.

since bee is here a few days early, i thought i’d put her to work and have her do our product review for chewy.com (where pet lovers shop).

up for review is freeze-dried raw boost mixers grain-free dog food topper. we ordered the mobility support recipe because bee has been having some joint issues lately and this product "provides natural glucosamine and chondroitin to help support healthy hips and joints." it’s freeze-dried so it’s very easy for any pup to chew and a big plus is that it’s made in the usa.

as far as the taste test goes, it passed with flying colors. bee is a pretty picky eater, so for her to like it, that’s saying a lot.

it is made without any of the stuff you don’t want (grain, corn, wheat, soy, potato, preservatives or artificial flavors) and plenty of the stuff you do want (cage-free chicken, chicken liver, pumpkinseeds, ground flaxseed, salmon oil, and new zealand green mussel, just to name a few).

i like the ingredients. bee liked the taste. it’s a win win.

bailey gobbled this up before i could get a picture of the product! she didn't even wait until i told you each stick is about 4.5" long and can easily be broken so you can decide how much, or how little, to give your pup.

the good people at chewy.com were kind enough to send us some taste of the wild pacific stream canned dog food for us to review. this food contains real smoked salmon mixed in a tasty gravy, sweet potatoes, blueberries and raspberries for antioxidants and is packed with omega-3 fatty acids.

after i cut the chunks into bailey-sized pieces, she did not hesitate in giving this food a try.

this product is grain-free and made in the usa.

this month we are trying (and when i say "we" i mean "bailey") instinct by nature's variety raw boost mixers beef recipe freeze-dried dog food topper. as the name indicates, they are freeze-dried which makes them very soft and crumbly. as a "mommy" to a tiny doggie with very weak jaw strength, and not all of her teeth, this is always top on my list when choosing what i feed her.
