road trip!

saturday hubby and i celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary, so we took an extended weekend and went on a road trip, with bailey of course. we should be home tonight but i wanted to be sure and get this scheduled to post before we left. that way you can get your bailey fix for the day. "i know today is wordless wednesday but it's also my mommy & daddy's anniversary and i just couldn't stay quiet about it. i wanted to shout it from the rooftops, but i'm not allowed to climb on the house, something about it being too dangerous. so instead i hijacked today's blog post. i wanted to tell the world, or at least blogville, that i love them to the moon and back."

5 years yesterday

yesterday hubby came home with a beautiful spring bouquet. why? because bailey unleashed had an anniversary. i've been blogging about little bailey for five years.

"cinco años? ay, chihuahua!"

yes, little bailey. i can hardly believe it myself!
thanks to all of our friends for allowing us into their computers, tablets & phones. we appreciate each and every one of you.

the day my world stopped turning

life is full of surprises: some good and unfortunately some horrendous. exactly one year ago today, my world stopped turning. my little bailey had a terrible fall that landed her in the icu for a week, with a cracked skull & a cracked vertebra. she was in such dire straits, we didn't know if she would pull through.

thankfully, under the care of our amazing dr w & his incredible staff, your POTP, and a nod from God, she pulled through. her recovery has been nothing short of a miracle. doc said that with the kind of injury bailey had sustained, "she shouldn't even be standing!"
she has been working very hard to recover from her ordeal. who knew a little chihuahua could be so strong! she's still dealing with a couple of issues that may never correct, but that's okay. she's not in any pain. it's just her new normal.

we never know how long our fur babies will be with us, but one thing is for certain, it isn't long enough. each moment we have with them is precious and should not be wasted or taken for granted.

happy anniversary to us!

yesterday, hubby and i celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary! [where has the time gone?] we all went out for an italian dinner at caffe allegro and splurged with drinks AND dessert! [we never do that].

but i've never seen one before."

"it's all gone? and you didn't give me a taste?!? pfft."

yesterday i was chatting with bailey about my parents. i was telling her that today, the 21st of may, is their 60th wedding anniversary (that's like 420 in dog years!). she listened, wide-eyed, as i told her their love story and when i was done, she thought about it for a while ...

then she said she wanted to get them a gift ... but what could she get them? after all, she is a dog and has no money. she decided that the best gifts are from the heart.
so, mom and dad, this is for you, from bailey, with love.

34 years? yowza!

we don't usually post on the weekends so i thought i would sneak in a post and mommy wouldn't even know. you see, yesterday my humans celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary. that's like 238 in dog years! yowza! anyhoo, i just wanted to wish them a happy anniversary and tell them that i love them sooo much! i am truly blessed to be their little girl.

2 years of blogging? say it ain't so!

i posted my very first blog post two years ago today. shocking, but true. i can hardly believe it myself. who knew i would have so much to say about a little 4 pound chihuahua. BOL. i had no idea where this blogging thing would go, if i could keep it up, or if anyone would even be interested in what i had to say.

bailey and i would like to thank each of you for your support and friendship. you guys are awesome. thanks for taking time from your lives to read about my life with my little chihuahua.

this month marks the 2 year anniversary of bailey's gotcha day. when i showed this pair of pictures to my hubby, he thought bailey looked older in the "then" picture. she looks more ragged and you can see the pain in her eyes. it looks like we have reversed the aging process now that bailey is in our care. yay for bailey!
