deer hunting

what has got bailey huffing & puffing?

let me start by saying that no deer were harmed in the making of this post.
the other day, we went deer hunting. no, not to kill them. gawd no! we went to photograph them. hubby works in the neighborhood and regularly sees them, so he brought me and bailey to see if we can find some.

do you see what bailey sees? she's right by the front door.

how about now. is she still too far?

ok, how's this. bailey didn't bark at her but she did huff & puff.

we saw lots of does and their fawns and we even found a young buck! can you see his little fuzzy antlers?

here's a little video of him. bailey and hubby stayed in the car while i got out to get a quick video before he disappeared into the thicket.

thanks to alfie's blog, my brown newfies & snoopy's dog blog for hosting monday mischief blog hop.

until we meet again my friends-

  5. Lots of deer around where we are at. We startled two on an off-leash walk last night. Fortunately Tim and Hank only chased them for a few feet before I called them off and they were good boys and came when they were called!

  8. OMDoodle - as a city girl, I don't know what I would do if I had that close encounter with a deer. I freak out at the sign of squirrels!
