it was a diy weekend

this weekend was very productive. we added a niche to one of our guest baths. the other side of this bathroom is a closet, so we took part of the top shelf in that closet and gave it to the little bathroom for added storage. oh, and of course bailey helped.

"i'm gonna be daddy's helper!"

"according to my calculations, this should fit just right."

"let's do this!"

"seems strong enough."

"i think you forgot the back!"

"yep, i like it. let's get it painted and installed."

"hey, this isn't funny. get me down from here!"

in a nutshell, we built a box, cut a hole in the wall, put the box in the hole and trimmed it out. after a little paint, voilà, added storage space.
thanks for all your help bailey! we couldn't have done it without you. BOL

bailey dreams of being like tillmann the skateboarding bulldog, so when i pulled out our skateboard, she was stoked to give it a try. BOL

while america is celebrating it's day of independence with "bombs bursting in air" remember that your pooch does not necessarily share your enthusiasm for this day. did you know that more dogs get lost on the 4th of july than any other day? when you are planning your festivities, don't forget about fido. if your dog is anything like bailey, you're gonna have your hands full trying to keep them calm. global animal put together a list of how to keep your dog calm during fireworks that may help you.

even though fireworks are illegal in my city, there are still the knuckleheads that think the law does not apply to them and they light screaming, popping and booming fireworks. this sends bailey into a tizzy. for goodness sake, bailey gets scared if we drop a paperclip on the floor! ya, the 4th of july is definitely not one of our favorite holidays. how does your dog handle the 4th of july? do you have any calming secrets?

bailey has it made in the shade

it has been so hot lately, but bailey knows how to stay cool. when she's outside, she enjoys being in the shade of our plum tree. and when she comes inside, she heads straight for the water bowl.

mischief in a construction zone

we are doing some work in our yard and bailey, our little supervisor, is taking her job very seriously. while she was making sure everything was up to code, she noticed someone that had not been cleared to be on the job site...

this little guy. good work bailey! hubby removed him from the job site and safely relocated him to another part of the yard.

she saw a few more lizards on the other side of the fence and started digging to scare them away. she knew it was dangerous for them to be near the construction area and didn't want them to get hurt.

she looks pleased with herself, doesn't she?

she then ventured off to survey the dig. be careful bailey! don't fall in.

"all that digging and not a bone to be found?! tsk tsk."
