{52 snapshots of life} #earth

why is bailey standing on a rock for our snapshot of life this week? because, my friends, hubby and i unearthed this monster from our backyard. we were digging a hole to plant an orange tree and found this boulder buried in the ground, right where we were going to put the tree. it had to come out if the tree was going to go in. it took hours and hours to unearth it, but we did it. well it was mostly hubby but i did assist as much as i could.

this is the tree we planted. of course it was half this size when we planted it. it's been growing here for almost 8 years. it is also the tree the mockingbirds have chosen to make their nest in.

hey, wanna see behind the scenes of what's got bailey attention?

here you have it. hubby is tempting her with a yummy treat. BOL

thanks to the lazy pitbull for hosting 52 snapshots of life blog hop.

little dog, big rock

did bailey go rock climbing? no, more like rock standing. hubby put her on the rock and she stood there so i could take her picture. BOL

more fun with aoife

aoife is so much fun to have around. you can stick her pretty much anywhere and she'll stay perfectly still for a picture. i've done it before with cinder blocks and now with a wheelbarrow ...

and a rock.

bailey on the other hand, freaks out when placed on a metal chair! BOL

channeling rin-tin-tin

on our last trip to the dog park, aoife and bailey climbed a boulder and when they reached the top, it's as if they channeled rin tin tin and in unison assumed his famous pose. i could never have planned and executed this shot. it was spontaneous and organic.

relaxing in redlands

we went to redlands the other day to check out a coffee shop i've been hearing a lot of good things about. (if you wanna read that adventure, that post is on my coffee blog.) while we were strolling around downtown, bailey found this interesting water receptacle in the wall! i guess it was a built in water bowl, because of the doggie decals on the tile, but it was big enough to bathe her in! she thought it smelled very interesting and spent quite a while taking in the scents.

for a little fun, hubby put her on a big rock and she felt like she was queen of the world!
