empty nest

bailey wanted to share some pictures of the hummingbirds that have nested on our patio. this is the third time we have had baby hummingbirds here and each time is just as magical as the last.

mommy hummingbird recycles her nest for each set of eggs by adding fresh fluff. daddy hummingbird had nothing to do with the nest renovation or the rearing of his offspring. mommy did it all on her own and she did a wonderful job.

  7. You are so very blessed! We have plenty of hummingbirds here, all winter long, but I think they nest in my very tall cedar tree in the yard (where I can't see them). I'd love to see babies!
