close encounter of a feline kind

why am i starting off this post with a cat? because we had a crazy experience at lowes and i just had to share it with y'all.
what do you suppose this cat is staring at?

he's staring at bailey!!!

and he's stalking her as she walks around.

bailey is so busy sniffing around, she doesn't even notice that there is a cat lurking by the pillar.

she's in her own little world and is oblivious to everything around her.

when she finally notices him, she is not impressed.

we walked away and the cat sat up like a little prairie dog so he could keep watching bailey.

he just couldn't keep his eyes off of her!

as bailey walked away, the cat followed!

i'm not sure what this cat was thinking. maybe he's never seen such a tiny dog? maybe it was love at first sight? i have no idea but it was the strangest thing we've ever experienced. what do you think?

thanks to ruckus the eskie, love is being owned by a husky & barking from the bayou for hosting thoughtless thursday blog hop.

until we meet again my friends-

  2. We live in Singapore and there are quite a handful of feral cats (we call them community cats) around our neighborhood. Most of them just stay put where they are when we walk pass. Bowie is just like Bailey, mostly oblivious to a pair or more of staring eyes.

We've also came across a couple who were curious enough to follow us. I would be on the alert I do not know how to read cats' body language. When the cat got close fast, I would scoop Bowie up and walked away quickly in case the cat attacked.

  3. Many many years ago our next door neighbor bought a chihuahua puppy (it was only 6 weeks old and very tiny) and stupidly left it outside in a basket - a feral cat found it and killed it and ate half of it before the people came outside and saw what had happened.

  7. Kitty looks like one of my feral cats. I think perhaps she had never seen a dog that small and thought maybe they could be friends. Kitty might of been lonely.
