my kitchen helper

as i was preparing dinner last night, i looked down to find bailey standing there, afghan and all. i was making a chicken casserole and she was no doubt hoping for a kitchen disaster that would end with all the chicken falling to the floor. well there was no disaster but i may have "accidentally" dropped one or two pieces. and being the helpful chihuahua that she is, she was more than happy to clean them up for me. thanks for your help, little bailey. BOL

sorry for the delay in getting this review up, somehow it fell by the wayside, but here it is!

today we are reviewing taste of the wild southwest canyon grain-free canned dog food sent to us by our friends at chewy.

it is a stew style food with gravy that bailey liked right away. the chunks were a little big for her so i did have to cut them into smaller pieces but they are soft and very easy for her to chew. i'm sure if aoife were here, she'd just swallow the chunks whole, BOL, but that's not how bailey rolls. i've been giving her a little every day, as a side dish, and she has really been enjoying it, down to the last drop of gravy.

panic free 4th of july

yesterday went exactly according to plan. we took bailey out for a long leisure stroll and she got totally pooped. when we got home, i gave her another bath. i know i just gave her one but she's been really itchy lately so i gave her another. i made her favorite dinner (ground sirloin) and with a full tummy she went right to sleep. all of our planning payed off and we had a panic free 4th.

the calm before the storm

don't you just hate it when you are sitting quietly at the computer, soft music playing in the background, pup sleeping peacefully on your lap, when all of a sudden there are bombs bursting in air? ya me too. besides giving me a heart attack, it throws my little bailey into a tizzy. why do people have to do that? ever since bailey came into our lives, i dread the 4th of july (and new years eve). she goes into a panic that lasts for hours.

because a pooped pup is a happy pup, tomorrow afternoon we will be going for a long walk. when evening hits, i will try the thundershirt. i've heard great things about it. hopefully it'll help, at least a little. plus we will have classical music on the tv, windows will be closed, air conditioner will be on, and the curtains'll be drawn. if i forgot anything, please let me know! is the 4th of july the worst day ever for your fur babies or are they cool with it?
