thunderbolt and lightning, very very frightening me

if bailey could sing, that's the song she would have been singing yesterday. we had some crazy weather last night. we were sitting out on our patio enjoying the cooler evening when all of a sudden, there was lightning to the north of us. a few seconds later, the boom of thunder. bailey's marble eyes nearly popped out of her little apple head. then, just as thunder follows lightning, bailey's shakes follow thunder. luckily the thunder didn't last too long or she would have gone into a full panic. we got a little sprinkle of rain out of the thunder storm but if it's gonna rain, let it rain! this little tease of water from the sky does nothing except dirty our cars.

between my flower bed and the lawn, we have a little curb divider. i was going to take a picture to show you how bailey chooses to walk on the little curb rather than walking on the lawn. just as i was about to take her picture, she turned to look at me and this is the face she gave me! now i can't say it was on purpose but, well you be the judge.

looks can be deceiving

look at this picture. what do you see? do you see the look of guilt or innocence in bailey's little face? it "appears" that bailey has been caught in the act of digging up the pea gravel. but don't be too quick to judge. looks can be deceiving...

actually, hubby is painting our house and he had to dig back the gravel to paint the wall, so it was his doing. bailey is innocent of all charges.
do you owe her an apology or did you believe in her innocence? BOL

the days are finally starting to cool off enough to enjoy our backyard again. we've had triple digit temps lately so even high 80's seem cool right now. yesterday we enjoyed some outside time, just relaxing in the shade.

shopping w/ doggies

when we were visiting daughter #1 in monterey, she took us to an antique store. (gotta love antique shopping.) when we got to the door, we saw the dreaded sign. "no dogs allowed". ugh! as we were discussing who would stay outside with the doggies, the man working there offered us one of their shopping carts! he said they just don't want dogs walking around and possibly wagging a tail and knocking something over but if they are contained, no problemo!
thank you nice man! now i will spend money in your store. BOL
