trip to the vet

today was our yearly visit to the vet.  little bay is maintaining her weight of 4#.  she got her recommended vaccinations and a clean bill of health.  i can't believe it's already been a year since we rescued her.  how far she has come; from an unwanted, underweight dog with a diseased uterus, diseased ovaries & a slight case of mange, to a spayed,  healthy & loved member of our family.  to look at her now you'd never know she was the same dog.  she is bright eyed & bushy tailed and always at the ready for a walk or a ride in the car.

an agility center opened this saturday, so we went to the grand opening. bailey decided to give the a-frame a try. i think she did quite well.

bailey does frisco

during the labor day holiday, bailey took her first trip to san francisco.  she visited all the hot spots: fisherman's wharf, the ferry building, pier 39, she crossed the bay bridge, and as you can see here, she posed with the world famous trolley car.  she had a fun time and is looking forward to her next visit.

we love going to coffee shops with bailey and as you can see she enjoys it just as much.

our first 4th of july with bailey was quite a surprise.  with her personality, we didn't think she would be afraid of the fireworks, but we were wrong.  "the bombs bursting in air" made her tremble with fear and our evening was spent trying to calm her down.  we had our music a little louder than usual, played with new toys, talked to her in a calming tone, everything we could think of.  she finally settled down under her blankie on the sofa.
