somebody's watching me

when i see bailey watching me (like in these pics) rockwell's song "somebody's watching me" starts spinning in my head. you know the one:

i always feel like somebody's watching me | and i have no privacy | i always feel like somebody's watching me | tell me is it just a dream?

fyi: did you know michael jackson sang the chorus?

travel safe

as with children, when traveling with your pooch, buckle up! bailey loves to go for car rides in her comfy me & zelda booster seat. she's so tiny, we had to stuff the bottom with a blankie, but that makes it all the more comfy for her.

bailey sleeps in a teepee

we took a mini getaway this weekend and stayed at the wigwam motel on route 66. bailey was very excited to stay in a "real" teepee! the motel's been there since 1949 and i must say, we really did get our kicks on route 66. the motel is adorable and dog friendly!!!

merry christmas!

this was bailey's 2nd christmas as a part of our family.  my, how time flys!  it seems like just yesterday that we found her.  she spent her day eating, lounging, playing & surrounded by those that love her.  what a life.

thankful

one year ago, bailey was homeless.  today she has a home, a warm bed to sleep in, food a plenty, and a family that loves her.  i am so thankful that we found her but while we are counting our blessings, i can't help but think about all the homeless pets that are hoping to find their forever homes.  this year, if you are planning on purchasing a pet for christmas, please consider adoption.  through no fault of their own, loving pets are ending up in shelters and rescue groups and spending their final days feeling alone and unwanted.  adoption saves lives.  opt to adopt.

happy thanksgiving

trip to the vet

today was our yearly visit to the vet.  little bay is maintaining her weight of 4#.  she got her recommended vaccinations and a clean bill of health.  i can't believe it's already been a year since we rescued her.  how far she has come; from an unwanted, underweight dog with a diseased uterus, diseased ovaries & a slight case of mange, to a spayed,  healthy & loved member of our family.  to look at her now you'd never know she was the same dog.  she is bright eyed & bushy tailed and always at the ready for a walk or a ride in the car.
