yesterday's visit left me devastated. i debated on even writing today's post but i have documented her life for almost 4 years and this is another part of our journey. this shot doesn't show her in a peaceful sleep like the past two posts. this one is raw and not very pretty. she did open her left eye while i was there. i hope she could see me and feel my touch and the love i have for her.
doc said she was more alert and responsive but i didn't see that while i was there. during my entire visit, she was non-stop paddling. it was heartbreaking. doc said when she gets agitated, she paddles. i hope my being there didn't upset her too much. her brain is still swollen and is putting pressure one of her eyes causing the pupil to become dilated. they are still running lots of tests, so again, all i can do is wait, and hope and pray for some good news.
thank you again for all your prayers and well wishes. the power of love and prayer is an unstoppable force. please keep it going for my little bailey. she is so small and so helpless.
until we meet again my friends-
Oh Sweetie, I really feel for you.

Go with what the vet said - that is the best good news right now that he sees that glimmer of hope. We at Team Beaglebratz just heard about Bailey's fall over at Terra Toby - how horribly scarey it must be for you. Even if Bailey paddling as a sign of agitation, I would take that as a good sign also - that means there is activity between the brain and her muscles - like you said, she is not paralyzed. I don't know what I would do if this happened to one of my dogs - I was a basket case when one suffered a slight stroke and that just lasted a few minutes and then he came out of it.
ReplyDeleteSending peace and hugs to you and healing vibes and POTP for little Bailey.

ReplyDeleteWe still can't believe this and are so sad for you and Bailey! Just one thought, since we are doing so much with our noses. Can you leave a blanket or something with your scent on it for her to have in her cage at the vet. Perhaps smelling you and home would help relax her. Humans don't realize the power smell has with dogs most of the time. It may be a tiny comfort or none at all but it may be worth trying.
ReplyDeleteWe are sending lots of prayers for your little Bailey. We wish there was something we could do to ease your worry.
ReplyDeletelots of pug prayers for Bailey's recovery

ReplyDeleteWe have a full volume Purr Circle going for Bailey.
ReplyDeleteI also want to tell you a story. My sisfur rescues doggies while we do kitties. Her one little fellow had a very bad reaction to a medication and went into a full coma. He was in ICU for a week. When he came home all he did was move his paws while laying on his side. Sisfur took care of him for weeks in this state. Feeding him with a syringe and cleaning him up. Day in and day out it went on. Then one day as I was going to my office (We share a duplex) which is in her part I saw him STANDING UP. It was not much but... He kept getting better. Today he is a fun loving little doggie who runs and plays. It took several months for him to recover but he DID.
We send love purrs and prayers
